Storage Extension Requests and Procedure
Coverage under our all risks programs is door to door from the date of pick up until the shipment is finally delivered to the final residence.
The "free" period is determined from the date the shipment enters the storage warehouse. The storage extension premium extends coverage for one thirty (30) day storage period.
TGI will not invoice individuals for storage extension premiums. It is the Insured's responsibility to extend coverage prior to the expiration of the previous storage period.
Important Information
Do not confuse warehouse storage charges with
insurance storage extension fees; these are two distinctly different services
and charges.
Facility requirements: A shipment cannot be stored in a self-storage public storage facility. Coverage terminates upon any shipment's placement in such a facility. Household goods and personal effects can be stored in a licensed commercial household goods carrier's warehouse only.
Accessing the Shipment: A shipment cannot be accessed while it is in a licensed commercial carrier's warehouse for the purpose of adding or removing property. Coverage terminates immediately upon the shipment being accessed.
